Finding Healing, Connection, and Confidence to Be Your Authentic Self
Are you feeling anxious, stuck in patterns you’re trying to break, or disconnected from yourself? Maybe past trauma or grief keeps showing up in your relationships, or you’re struggling to feel safe being your authentic self in a world that doesn’t always make space for you. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
I’m a trauma therapist and queer-affirming therapist based in Denver, Colorado, specializing in helping adults move through anxiety, trauma, grief, and identity-related challenges. I help people reprocess painful experiences, understand themselves more deeply, and learn new ways of coping so they can feel grounded, confident, and connected.
Meet Lily Buthod, LPC
I’m a queer therapist in Denver, originally from Houston, Texas. I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and went on to support adolescents and young adults in community mental mental health before entering private practice. I prioritize showing up as my authentic self in the therapy space, using humor when needed, and creating a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation to our work together.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy playing instruments, singing and creating music, hiking, crocheting, and fostering cats. I can’t wait to connect with you as you start your healing journey.
How I Can Help
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and non-judgmental. Together, we’ll create a safe space where you can explore your story, heal from what’s been holding you back, and reconnect with your values and sense of self.
I use evidence-based therapies such as:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help your brain and body heal from trauma
Parts Work to truly understand yourself in a deeper and more compassionate way
Mindfulness to build awareness and self-acceptance
Self-Compassion practices to quiet the inner critic and foster kindness toward all parts of yourself, even the most challenging ones
Whether you’re:
Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or stress
Working through grief or loss
Healing from childhood or relationship trauma
Exploring your queer identity, moving through life as you navigate heteronormative expectations, or looking for an affirming therapist
Ready to break free from unhelpful patterns
…therapy can help you feel more connected to yourself and others and start living a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
